Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
An individual identified as Ujjwal Mondal has been apprehended following the alleged murder of his wife, Jyotsna Mondal, within their residence. The incident, involving the slitting of the victim's throat, occurred late Monday night in Chittaranjan Colony, Ward No. 24 of Kanchrapara, a city located in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
The 45-year-old victim, Jyotsna Mondal, was reportedly sleeping in her room when the incident took place. Her husband, Ujjwal Mondal, is stated to have gained entry into the room by removing roof tiles from the house. He then allegedly used a sharp-edged weapon to inflict the fatal injury. Information indicates that the couple had been experiencing a prolonged domestic dispute, which reportedly escalated leading to the incident.
Prior to the event, Ujjwal Mondal had reportedly issued threats on multiple occasions to both his wife and her in-laws. Following the discovery of the incident, authorities were notified, and police have since arrested the accused, Ujjwal Mondal. The matter is currently under investigation by law enforcement.
